. 2009 SEASON STARTS FROM APRIL-OCT WITH SPECIAL EVENT WEEKENDS

After a very good build up to christmas ,with our festive sunday open weekends which gets better each year. The new year started with our Open top bus in the New Years Day Parade in London. While in Southend there was the vintage bus service operating in the local area with many trips to the museum.What a pleasure to see these grand old buses back on the road.Well done to those who put on a fine service.Our Model railway exhibition this year which was link by a vintage bus service to Canvey model railway at Waterside attracted a lot of interest.The trip to Chatham dockyard this year with the Daimler open top FOP 429 and 1966 MW6G OWC182D .The open top ran a trip round Chatham with our driver Rocky.(the stig) Inside the museum more building work to the upstairs for display area and refreshment area.Two extra tracks to model rail layout.Bank holiday weekend a trip to Brighton on OWC182D more jollys to come.June the 7th is CLACTON RUNNING DAY buses run from the museum to clacton travel back to the 1960s on a classic bus or coach theres a seat for you if you get up in time-join rocky and friends-contact the museum (sorry museum members only) join today.Clacton running day was a good start to the summer season with a large collection Eastern National vehicles on show,With trips around the town and countryside in the open top buses.Well done steve great event.Sunday the open top buses were out on the link from Benfleet to the Castle point show at Waterside,6 more on display at the showground.With good weather and large selection of attractions.
For this season our model rail layout has been updated, six tracks running with tram layout, new interior displays, special running days and exhibitions throughout the season. Join us with a jolly in the Kent countryside to Chatham dockyard sunday 23March. April 12th was our Model Railway Show which attracted a large number of visitors, free bus rides around the island, model rail layouts and plenty of items on sale.The interior of the museum is near completion with more vehicles up and running. After many years of hard work the LDL is now on the road for this season.Sadly with no ENPG show this year their members have organised a event to take place at the museum on june 1st from 10.00am,stalls,displays and a touch the 1950s theme.Transport provided. Also on the same day the Bristol LS is about on a tour of essex with Rocky at the controls.New roof has now been replaced inside the museum ready for our open day, with a large collection of vehicles on display and the classic buses on the link .
The Museum is open to visits from schools, museums, etc throughout the year .
